An original unique painting of a Rough Fell ram, an upland sheep commonly found in Cumbria, North Yorkshire and Lancashire. The ram is painted in watercolours, inks, gouache and fine pen line work on vintage railway ephemera mounted between two sheets of glass.
This is a c1930s LNER livestock wagon label. The Rough Fell is hand painted in watercolours and gouache over a pen and pencil sketch. The painting is framed between 2 pieces of cut glass and finished with copper foil and 40% lead 60% tin solder. Copper rings have been added and British made copper ribbon included for hanging.
