This British Rail platform ticket for Appleby Station was issued in 2003, with the iconic ‘British Rail’ logo and colour scheme of the time.
The butterfly is hand painted in watercolours and gouache over a pen and pencil sketch. The painting is framed between 2 pieces of cut glass and finished with copper foil and 60% lead 40% tin solder. Copper rings have been added and British made copper ribbon included for hanging.
