The paper used is an original Furness Railway Ticket for Army, Navy and Police (dated 1926) with original handwritten details of Grange Over Sands and Preston. With an ink wash background, the oystercatcher is hand painted in watercolours and gouache over a pen and pencil sketch. Finally, the painting is framed between 2 pieces of cut glass and finished with copper foil. A handmade wooden block made from reclaimed wood provides a stand for the painting.
