An original unique painting of a comma butterfly using watercolours, inks, gouache and fine pen line work on modern tram ephemera mounted between two sheets of glass.
This British Rail platform ticket for Appleby Station was issued in 1990, with the iconic ‘British Rail’ logo and colour scheme of the time.
The butterfly is hand painted in watercolours and gouache over a pen and pencil sketch. The painting is framed between 2 pieces of cut glass and finished with copper foil and 60% lead 40% tin solder. Copper rings have been added and British made copper ribbon included for hanging.
This painting would make a lovely gift and is perfect for a collector.

This painting is presented in a handmade copper foiled and soldered glass sandwich frame. All frames are made by The Badger Sett Studio in Lancashire.
