Circus of Puffins - Furness Railway Waybill - Grange Over Sands
An original unique panoramic format painting of a circus of puffins using watercolours, inks, gouache and fine pen line work on vintage railway ephemera mounted between two sheets of glass.
This is an original Furness Railway waybill from 1923, at the time when the railway was absorbed into the LMS Railway (there is a handwritten ‘LMS’ acknowledgement on the paper at the top over the top of the ‘Furness Railway’ title). The puffins are hand painted in watercolours and gouache over a pen and pencil sketch. The painting is framed between 2 pieces of cut glass and finished with copper foil and 40% lead 60% tin solder. A handmade wooden block made from reclaimed wood provides a stand for the painting.
This painting would make a lovely unique gift and is perfect for a collector.
Painting Size (Framed)
31cm x 13cm
