An original unique painting of a bullfinch using watercolours, inks, gouache and fine pen line work on vintage railway ephemera mounted between two sheets of glass.
This is a British Railways LNER wagon label c.1940 referencing Boston and Stratford Market. The bullfinch is hand painted in watercolours and gouache over a pen and pencil sketch. The painting is framed between 2 pieces of cut glass and finished with copper foil and 40% lead 60% tin solder. Copper rings have been added and British made copper ribbon included for hanging.
