Blackbird 1940s War Dept Wagon Label
An original painting of a blackbird using watercolours, inks, gouache and fine pen line work on vintage railway ephemera mounted between two sheets of glass.
The blackbird is painted on a rare original British 1940s War Department Wagon Label in watercolours and gouache over a pen and pencil sketch. The painting is framed between 2 pieces of cut glass and finished with copper foil and 40% lead 60% tin solder. A handmade wooden block made from reclaimed wood provides a stand for the painting.
