‘The Secret Garden’ - original linocut print.
One in a series of 4 prints inspired by the beautiful and inspiring nursery gardens of Abi & Tom’s Halecat Nursery in Witherslack, Cumbria. This rather special plant nursery is a must visit at any time throughout its seasonal year. From the moment it begins to unfurl in April, through dramatic colour and foliage changes and into early autumn, it is a constantly changing landscape and an absolute haven for artists and gardening enthusiasts.

To celebrate the recent return of the ‘Brief Encounter’ Joyce of Whitchurch clock to our local Carnforth Railway Station, this original handcut linoprint depicts the approach to the platform and clock made famous by the 1945 film Brief Encounter, based on the screenplay by Noel Coward and starring Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard.

More swallows interweave in the background in a linear style. Arcing lines bisect the print depicting the movement of the birds. This print measures 9.5” x 9.5” (24cm x 24cm).
